On first launch, AquaNote guides you through the setup: choose a name, volume, and aquarium type (freshwater or saltwater) – the matching default parameters are created automatically. You can add more aquariums via the aquarium switcher at the top of the app.

Tap the name of your aquarium at the top of the Home tab (next to the arrow icon) to open the aquarium switcher. There you can see all your aquariums and add another one via “Add aquarium”. To switch, simply tap the aquarium you want in the list. With the free version you can manage one aquarium; with AquaNote Pro, as many as you like.

The Health Score summarizes how well your most recently logged water values fall within the ideal range. Green means “in the optimal range”, while orange/red indicates that a parameter needs attention – tap the value to see details and history.

In the Dosing Schedule tab, add your fertilizers, trace elements, or medications – either manually or by scanning a barcode. Then set how often and how much to dose. AquaNote reminds you at the right time and automatically reduces your stock.

Open the menu (☰) to get to equipment management. There you add filters, heaters, pumps, and more, including purchase date, warranty, and maintenance interval. With AquaNote Pro, AquaNote also calculates electricity costs based on the power rating and adds them to your expenses automatically.

Pro unlocks, among other things, multiple aquariums, the complete history of your measurements, cloud sync between devices, AI-powered algae analysis and water value insights, as well as electricity cost calculation in equipment management. The core features (water values, calendar, dosing schedule, calculators) remain free permanently.

Sign in with your account (email, Google, or Apple) – as a Pro user, your aquariums, water values, inhabitants, equipment, and more are synced automatically across all your devices. Without signing in, your data is stored locally on your device only.

If you sign in with Google or Apple, AquaNote has no password of its own for your account – sign-in goes directly through the respective provider. Changing a password in the app is therefore only necessary for accounts created with email & password.

In Settings under “Account” you’ll find the option to delete your account – this permanently removes all data stored in the cloud. Data stored locally on your device can be deleted at any time via aquarium management.
